In the final maker meeting of the Fall 22 semester, we set up a maker playground to show off the amazing coat of arms projects that our makers created. This was a wonderful way to end the semester and displayed our makers' connection with each other.
The third cohort meeting happened on Tuesday, November 8th. With our coat of arms project coming to an end, we showcased a wonderful space for the makers to use. This project has provided great opportunities for folks to learn more about each other and we are looking forwards to the stories people will share.
Our second cohort meeting happened on Tuesday, October 18th. Everyone was excited to continue their work on the Coat of Arms project and to figure out what they will make it out of. The meeting was a nice break from the busy classwork all the students had.
Tuesday, September 13th was our first maker meeting for Fall 2022. We were all happy seeing each other again and to gain some new members. Some popular TV shows heavily inspire this semester's theme and we look forward to what our teams create.
Tuesday, May 10th was the date of our last Spring 2022 Maker Meeting. Everybody presented their semester-long project geared towards assisting Austin Pets Alive. We also had our first maker showcase presentation since the pandemic happened.
Tuesday, February 8th was the date of our first Spring 2022 Maker Meeting. We had some new faces show up and others join us over Zoom. We know some of our makers are busy in other places so we made the meeting hybrid. We also had a representative from Austin Pets Alive join us to talk about their program.
Tuesday, August 8th was our final remote summer meetup. We talked about maker strategies for starting the school year and participated in a sensory team-building activity to highlight how physical materials can help bring concepts to life. A great August event!
Tuesday, July 7th, was a second remote meetup of the summer. At this meeting, one of our graduates led a Joy Scavenger Hunt and one of the master teachers from the UTeach program walked our makers through a tutorial on how to make and create classroom activities with Nearpod.
Tuesday, June 2nd, was the first UTeach Maker remote summer meetup. At this meeting, we set a summer agenda, shared resources for teaching with a social justice lens, and engaged in at home origami activities presented by our own Jean Feeser.
