Tuesday, June 2nd, was the first UTeach Maker remote summer meetup. We were excited to find that many of the makers in our community were eager to stay connected over the summer months.
This meetup started with a check-in and a time for resource sharing. One of the resources shared was a suite of tools and videos for teaching with a social justice lens put out by WGBH.
After taking some time to share, we moved on to working on a google doc where makers were able to contribute their ideas for summer activities and explain what they wanted to get from our summer meetings.
We ended with an at-home maker activity where our own Jean Feaser shared a bit about the history of making with paper led the group through the steps of using origami to make a graduate cap, small notebook, or bookmark.
