cardboard construction techniques display

November Weekend Workshop

St. Edwards University - 3001 S Congress Ave

Join Stefanie Nguyen from St. Gabriel's Makerspace for a workshop that focuses on different cardboard construction techniques (gussets, braces, flanges, etc.) and learning how to use various cardboard cutting tools with students. Leave with a display for your classroom!! Food and giveaways provided.

Try Out Maker - Foundry Tours

Nov. 8, 2019, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Meet at UTeach Workroom

Maker Connor Dillon will lead tours to The Foundry Makerspace. Open to all students, The Foundry provides tools such as a laser cutter, 3D printers, VR, sewing machines, mills, and other video and audio equipment. Tours will start at 10am, noon, and 2pm. Meet at the UTeach Workroom and Connor will walk with you to The Foundry in the Fine Arts Library.

Join Maker Fellows Maisha Rumman and Krystal Rankhorn along with Master Teacher Kelli Allen to explore a combination of blended learning and making. This workshop will use fliphunts, a video-based scavenger hunt for the Flipgrid environment, to differentiate maker activities for students.

Creating a Makerspace Classroom - Meet us out at NYOS Charter school where Maker Fellow Kira Lowery will describe how she has integrated making in her classroom. This will be followed by a maker measurement activity co-created by Kira and Phil. Good times - and food of course!!!
